Day Two Hundred Fifty-One: Meals on Wheels with Mom

It was so fun to have my mom ride along with me while I did my Meals on Wheels deliveries today. Afterwards we were able to have lunch together at Mena Grill. I don't get to spend much one-on-one time with her these days, so it was a special day.

Day Two Hundred Thirty: Meals on Wheels Rider

I had the opportunity to have a Meals on Wheels volunteer trainee ride along with me on my route this morning, which was a fun change of pace. It was nice to get to "show someone the ropes" and to have someone to visit with between stops.

Day Ninety-One: Meals on Wheels

I have been wanting to volunteer with a Meals on Wheels organization for a while. But life is what it is, and I just haven't been able to make it happen. Today, I finally got to meet the local director and go on a ride-along to get a feel for how a route works and to begin to understand the process for delivering the meals. They have lots of volunteers and aren't able to give me my own route at the moment, so for now, I will be acting as a substitute. I'm really thankful for this opportunity and am glad the stars finally aligned for me get involved.
