Day One Hundred Forty-Three: Lighting a Match to Ring in the New Year

When I first met Jeff, he talked about how his family rang in the New Year (if they were awake) by lighting matches. I had never heard of this tradition and somehow it never got incorporated into our married life. Finally, almost 20 years in, gathered with the rest of the Watts, I participated in the match lighting. It was such a blessing to ring in the New Year surrounded by family. I can't wait to see what 2018 brings!
